At Snify ("we", "our", or "the app"), we respect and protect the privacy of our users. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use Snify:

• Account information: Name, email address, city, and authentication method (email, Google, or Apple).
• Pet information: Name, species, breed, date of birth, weight, sex, health conditions, medical history, vaccines, feeding logs, and photos.
• Family information: Family name, role (admin or member), and relationship with other members.
• Usage data: AI chat queries, app interactions, product link clicks, and completed tasks.
• Device information: Operating system, app version, and selected country.

2. How we use information

We use the collected information to:

• Personalize AI assistant responses based on your pet's characteristics.
• Generate feeding, vaccine, and health check reminders.
• Create aggregated, anonymous breed statistics for the benefit of the entire community.
• Recommend relevant products and services for your pet.
• Help you find nearby veterinarians, pet hotels, and pet shops based on your city.
• Improve the app and develop new features.
• Display personalized ads through Google AdMob (free plan users only).

3. Advertising

Snify uses Google AdMob to display ads to free plan users. AdMob may collect and use certain device data to show relevant ads. Learn more about how Google uses information at Google's privacy policy.

Pro plan users do not see ads and their data is not shared with advertising networks.

On iOS devices, we respect the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) setting. If you opt out of tracking, ads will not be personalized.

4. Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the following cases:

• Family members: Members of your family group can see shared pet information, tasks, and feeding logs.
• Service providers: We use Supabase for data storage, Anthropic (Claude) for the AI assistant, Google AdMob for advertising, and Google Places for location-based recommendations (veterinarians, pet hotels).
• Aggregated statistics: Health, feeding, and longevity data is anonymously aggregated to generate breed statistics available to all users.
• Legal requirements: When required by applicable law or legal process.

5. Data security

We protect your information through:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest.
• Row-level security (RLS) policies in our database, ensuring only you and your family members can access your data.
• Secure authentication through recognized identity providers (Apple, Google).

6. Data retention

We retain your information while your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymous breed statistics data may be retained indefinitely.

When a pet is "departed" (deactivated), its data is kept as inactive and can be permanently deleted upon user request.

7. User rights

You have the right to:

• Access all information we hold about you and your pets.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Export your pets' medical history (available on Pro plan).
• Opt out of personalized advertising.

8. Children

Snify is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

9. Affiliate links

Snify contains links to products on MercadoLibre and Amazon. When you click these links, we record the interaction to improve our recommendations. Purchases are made directly on third-party platforms and are subject to their own privacy policies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify significant changes through the app. Continued use of Snify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
